DIEMUT AMUSHILA (FOUNDER)

Diemut is a registered psychological counsellor with the Health Profession Council of Namibia (HPCNA).  She is one of the few black professionals in the field of Psychology from previously disadvantaged background. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Namibia and went on to complete an Honors Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of South Africa. Diemut, underwent an accredited internship with the HPCNA that led to her registration as a Psychological Counsellor.

In her role as a psychological counsellor, she grew an interest in the fields of Neuropsychology and Palliative care; which led to her completing an MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience from the Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine from the University of Cape Town. During her studies and work, Diemut has gained a wealth of experience in dealing with cases such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dementia, alcoholism, marital conflicts, health and life stressors, depression, complicated grief and specialized counselling for palliative patients and their care givers.
